The Learning Disability Service in Dorset Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is staffed by a passionate and dedicated team and is looking for a like-minded individual to join us. This is an exciting time to join the Bridport CLDT as this new role gets introduced.

A nursing associate is a new member of the nursing team who will provide care and support for patients and service users. This new role is intended to address a skills gap between health and care assistants and registered nurses.

Working full time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) the successful candidate will already have experience of working in health, social care or special educational settings. The role will involve working within a multi-disciplinary health and social care team to support people with learning disabilities to live successfully in the community. You will be committed to improving the quality of life for our service users and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

In return we can also offer you:
• Ongoing training and progression, with an expectation to qualify as a Nurse Associate, who will be registered with the NMC
• Promotion to a band 4 after completing the Nurse Associate programme
• You will receive a comprehensive and structured induction
• NHS pension scheme
• Holiday and sick pay
• NHS discount and salary sacrifice scheme
• In the beautiful location of Dorset

The wider West Dorset Integrated Community Learning Disabilities Team provides services to mainly rural areas and will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to develop their skills by serving a diverse population. The post holder will be based at Bridport Hospital but may be required to work across sites if a specific need arises.
