We are a long established energy and utility consultancy providing services for commercial companies, housing providers, charities and local authorities. We employ the latest technology and bespoke software analysis systems to enable us to provide a top class service to our clients. We are embarking on the next step of our infrastructure strategy and are looking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This is a full time and permanent position.
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for demonstrating that the developed product meets all specified customer requirements, by analysing requirements and specifying the software solution and work breakdown.You will have a desire to create high-quality, robust code to solve diverse real-world problems, and have the ability to be infectious with your passion within your team.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Develop software to a high standard taking into consideration best practices and design patterns.
• Working closely with other developers and the department head to select technologies that are suitable against specific measurable criteria
• Work closely with the other developers to ensure that the overall department output is unified, consistent and robust
• Remain up to date on new technologies and industry developments
• Assess skills within the team to ensure that new technologies can be adopted with low impact on deliverables
• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Ensure new applications can be integrated into existing networks and databases
• Test and deploy applications and systems
• Improve existing software
• Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support
Our ideal candidate will
• Be degree educated
• Have several years of post graduate experience in a similar role
• Demonstrable experience of variety of web applications showing versatility
• Be skilled in the use of AngularJS, C#, Web API, RESTful services, Asp.Net MVC, Microservices, .Net Core, Jquery, Nodejs, Mongo and SQL Server
