The Technology department is focused on maintaining the business’s status as a tech leader in the fashion industry. Our Hybris team is comprised of software architect and developers who are responsible for the design and development of our code. Our tech stack is a mix of Hybris, Spring/Java, JVM languages, js, Node and Swift, but we are always looking for the right technology for the job. We have a dynamic and evolving architecture landscape of enterprise systems and microservices, which we are continually adapting to scale with the extreme pace of business growth. We work closely with our other software engineers, product managers, test managers and stakeholders in the wider business to ensure we are constantly innovating and driving forward our engineering methods. We strongly believe in good software craftsmanship, sound engineering principles, DevOps and automation.

• Lead the design and development of applications, servers and APIs
• Provide technical leadership and direction
• Own the delivery of software, including estimation, planning and release management
• Lead, mentor and inspire a team of around 3 to 4 agile engineers, which may include line management responsibilities
• Define and implement good engineering patterns and practices
• Collaborate with the other engineering leads to define cross-platform solutions
• Collaborate with product managers and internal business stakeholders to define requirements and plans
• Define the technical roadmap in collaboration with the Head of Engineering and other engineering leads
• Architecture and design governance in collaboration with architects and other engineering leads
• Technical due diligence of third party integrations
• Compile and maintain good quality architectural and systems documentation

• Excellent knowledge of Java Spring MVC
• Hybris development experience a big plus
• Strong engineering credentials and experience of the full SDLC
• Knowledge and experience of CI/CD and testing: test pyramid (unit/integration/BDD tests)
• Some knowledge of front-end web development with HTML, CSS, Javascript and jQuery
• Broad-minded approach to technology stacks, with a focus on using the right tool for the job, so it’s likely that you will have some experience of other languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, PHP or Go 

• Some experience of database development: SQL and/or NoSQL
• Knowledge of REST web services and APIs 

• Knowledge and experience of TDD and BDD
• Desirable to have some knowledge of microservice architecture and development
• Desirable to have some knowledge of Node.js
• Desirable to have some knowledge and experience with and interest in native mobile app development in iOS and/or Android
• Desirable to have knowledge and experience in continuous integration and DevOps approaches
