The Role
An opportunity has arisen for this multi skilled role as Warehouse and Packing Operative at our Corby site. This role involves the safe operation of fork lift trucks; picking customer orders; loading and unloading vehicles and general cleaning and hygiene duties. The successful applicant will also be required to operate the carousel packers, palletisers and shrink wrap machine in addition to general manual handling duties. The individual must ensure that all Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety standards are adhered to at all times. The hours of work for this role are Mon – Fri 22:00 – 06:00.

Reporting to the Warehouse & Packing Supervisor the main duties of this role will include:

• Working safely while always adhering to company Health & Safety guidelines and current legislation.
• Undertaking any necessary training in order to fulfil job requirements.
• Safe operation of fork lift trucks and any other mechanical handling equipment required.
• Manual picking and loading of customer orders
• Safe operation of the packing machines
• Driving the site shunt vehicle
• Ensuring product food safety through careful operation of all process lines and product handling.
• Continually work to achieve or exceed set targets for efficiency
• Employing a clean as you go policy including the removal of waste to the allocated area.
• Training to be Multi Skilled and to have a full understanding of other job functions in the warehouse.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have food industry and/or warehousing experience with the ability to drive a fork lift truck. Good numeracy and literacy skills are required. You will be a committed team player, good communication skills with a drive to learn and a motivation to succeed. Previous experience in running high speed food packaging lines will be advantageous.
