Summary


Research Manager

The Pain Management & Neuromodulation at Centre Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital is one of the largest and most prestigious pain centres in the UK. The Centre was established in 1982 and provides a wide range of services including neuromodulation implantation, pain relief procedures and residential Pain Management Programme (INPUT). The centre has an embedded multidisciplinary (MDT) approach, with MDT clinics including Chronic Headache centre, pelvic pain clinic, joint urology clinic and facial pain clinic. The centre is as the forefront of pain management in the NHS, and looks to lead research and embed it in clinical practice.

We are looking for an experienced research Manager to co-ordinator the delivery of day to day management of the dedicated research team within the Chronic Pain Services.

The post-holder will be responsible for the development and management of the department’s research ambitions both in the short and long term. The coordinator will also ensure that all research projects within the Chronic Pain Service are conducted in accordance with the medicines for human use regulations (2004), Good Clinical Practice Guideline (GCP) and the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care (2005).

The Manager will play a lead role in negotiating and securing funding for all commercial and non- commercial clinical trials, research grants controlling and agreeing all budgeting, planning and meeting timelines for all projects and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. In conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team the post holder will facilitate the production of good quality research. The post holder will work closely with the Department Managers and Senior Clinical Team and will be able to work effectively with and without direct supervision.
