Cannock CIS requires Band 6 Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a physiotherapist within a multidisciplinary team within the Cannock chase district. The post is 37.5 hours based in Norton canes health centre requiring travel across Cannock and surrounding areas.

You will be joining a multi skilled team of specialist including Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, therapy technicians, advanced nurse practitioners, nursing staff and other professionals. The job role also consists of liaising and joint working with care homes, social workers, social care assessors and home first co-ordinators and support workers.

You will be responsible to a team lead, and receive mentor support and supervision from a senior member of the team within your respected profession. Support will also be available from other senior professionals within the integrated community team.

The service covers 5 days a week Monday- Friday.

Your role will be to work autonomously to provide evidence based treatment catered to each individuals specific needs, this will consist of ; Goal setting, monitoring of rehab, delegation to therapy technicians, issuing of walking aids and documenting in a timely and professional manner.

Working within a bed based unit may be required as the CIS therapy team work closely with surrounding nursing homes in the completion of discharge to assess beds (D2A). The pathway enables patients to be discharged to a bed based unit from hospital for assessment by therapists to identify equipment/ therapy needs the patient requires to return home safely.

We host a wide variety of pathologies within our caseload such as: musculoskeletal, neurological, post-operative orthopaedic, falls, elderly rehab, and hospital prevention.
