We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed clinical psychologist to join our well established and dynamic service for older people and people with a diagnosis of dementia who live in Kent and Medway.
The post holder will be based at Thanet Mental Health Unit and will cover maternity leave for approximately 6 months. The role involves being part of an inpatient multidisciplinary team that works closely with the community teams to provide a comprehensive service to older people with a wide range of mental health needs plus younger people with dementia. The post is split between 2 wards (one mental health ward and one organic ward for people with a diagnosis of dementia). The role will also involve providing consultation to teams and families, group work, participating in multidisciplinary staff development and providing consultation/supervision to other inpatient staff. You will also be involved in enhancing the provision of psychological therapies for older people and service evaluation.
This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
