Summary

Electrical / Mechanical Engineer x 2 – Light Maintenance (Rail Shift Fitter)

Arriva TrainCare require 2 time served electrical and / or mechanical engineers to perform light maintenance duties within a train servicing depot at Scarborough.

This permanent contract opportunity comes with a salary of £32,796 and great additional benefits including 26 days annual leave including bank holidays, pension, healthcare cover, Arriva Rail Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.

As an Electrical / Mechanical Engineer (Rail Shift Fitter), you’ll be responsible for efficiently carrying out the maintenance and servicing of rail vehicles. You’ll also play an active part in continuously improving product quality with duties to include but not be limited to:

• Carrying out routine maintenance activities, as well as some fault finding, diagnostics and minor repairs
• Assisting in ensuring rolling stock availability and that reliability targets are met
• Undertaking Safety Critical Work Regulations assessments
• Operating rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits
• Deputising for the Team Leader, as and when required

You’ll work an average of 35 hours per week, on a 4 on and 4 off night shift roster.

What will I need to be considered for this Electrical / Mechanical Engineer (Rail Shift Fitter) role?

• Be a time served electrical and / or mechanical engineer with a solid understanding of rail vehicle (preferred), aircraft or heavy plant light maintenance activities
• Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or BTEC in Engineering, preferably Rail Traction and Rolling Stock
• Good understanding of depot operations, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards and requirements
