This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated staffing team of the Health-based Place of Safety within Enfield Mental Health services as the centralised service for BEHMHT. The service is primarily aimed at providing a service provision of a designated Place of Safety for those detained for assessment by the police under Section 136 and AMHP services under Section 135(1) of the MHA.
We are looking to recruit Band 5 nurses for this service, which is developing care provision in line with the Pan London Section 136 pathway. The post holders will be required to support holistic care to service users during their assessment in a professional, safe and effective manner.
The registered nurses within the team will also be responsible for working with the systems and processes for effective operation of the service, ensuring quality care with the achievement of maintaining a Place of Safety. The successful candidates must display a considerable degree of initiative, possess mature judgment and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with service users, their relatives, the police, colleagues and visitors. They must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, manage competing demands and organise their own work in meeting deadlines in order for the smooth running of the service.
Whilst this post is for Band 5 nurses, due to the nature of this service, this is not suitable for newly qualified nurses who have not yet completed their preceptorship.
