Summary
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mazak Turning Operator to set up, operate, and monitor Mazak CNC lathes to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and quality standards.
Duties
Set up and operate CNC Mazak turning machines (Mazatrol and/or ISO programming).
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices.
Load programs and make offsets or minor program adjustments as required.
Monitor machine performance and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements.
Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
Troubleshoot machining issues and identify corrective actions.
Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.
Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
Apprenticeship, vocational training, or certification in machining/manufacturing.
Experience with multi-axis turning centers, live tooling, or Y-axis machines.
Ability to edit CNC programs and perform machine setups independently.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Minimum Experience/Qualifications
Experience operating CNC Mazak turning centers.
Knowledge of Mazatrol programming and CNC machining principles.
Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Proficiency with measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
Understanding of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
