Summary

We are delighted to be able to offer an excellent opportunity for two Best Start Inclusion Practitioners to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

At Bracknell Forest, we pride ourselves on being a council which is stable and well-managed where our employees can thrive in a supportive environment. We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance and offer a variety of flexible working practices, including options for remote working and arrangements that allow you to work from home, dependent on the needs of the service.

This will be a session based role within the family hub network so although there is an opportunity to do some administrative tasks from home, the role will be mostly face-to-face.

About you…
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate early years practitioner with a strong understanding of child development in the 0-5 age range, a genuine commitment to inclusion and an understanding of relationship-based practice. You will play an important role in helping families access the right support early, while working with partners to create inclusive, welcoming services that improve outcomes for children with emerging additional needs.

About the team…
Based at the Child Development Centre, this role is part of a supportive, collaborative team working across the Early Years SEND and Inclusion team, the Best Start in Life team, the wider Family Hub network and alongside Experts at Hand. We work in a relationship-based way with families, colleagues and partners where you will help ensure lived experience shapes inclusive practice, early support and service development across Bracknell Forest.

Key responsibilities…
Provide early advice, guidance and practical support to families with concerns about child development, additional needs or access requirements, using a relationship-based approach that builds trust and confidence.
Help families navigate local services and support pathways through clear signposting and warm handovers, including health, early years, early help and SEND services.
Promote inclusive access to Family Hub activities through reasonable adjustments, short interventions and targeted inclusion sessions.
Work closely across the partnership, including linking with Experts at Hands, to strengthen early identification, inclusive practice and the voice of families in service development and delivery.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development, workforce learning and an improved experience for families.

Interview date
Interviews will be held on 9th and 10th July 2026 (first stage).

Interviews will be conducted in person, providing candidates with the chance to personally meet the team and experience our work environment.

We will be reviewing applications regularly and reserve the right to close the advert early if suitable candidates are identified. To avoid disappointment, you are advised to submit your application as soon as possible.

Please note AI is prohibited during the interview, any candidate using AI will be withdrawn from consideration.
