Summary
Facilitate a high quality, cost effective specialist service through monitoring, audit and other qualityinitiatives agreed by the Trust. Lead on and participate in key developments relating to the ophthalmic speciality so that highquality patient focused services are promoted. Organise and participate in team meetings where key directorate agendas are discussed andstaff feedbacks are taken on board for quality improvements. Promote a patient focused multidisciplinary approach to care in collaboration with carers,healthcare professionals and other agencies. Ensure safe discharge of patients in accordance with the trust Discharge Policy. Create an ethos where staff are valued and supported to deliver the best quality of care topatients. To be responsible for managing staffing resources effectively and efficiently, and to managestaff performance in accordance with trust policy. Implement and be actively engaged in competency-based assessments in conjunction withthe trust Education Team. Lead in the audit process for monitoring and reviewing nursing quality. To be responsible for implementing, maintaining and monitoring measureable standards ofcare using agreed tools. Maintain and improve standards of care whilst monitoring the care environment. To be responsible for the needs of the service users in determining short and long termpriorities in conjunction with the trust priorities and objectives.
