Summary

We have exciting opportunities for dedicated, passionate and bubbly individuals to join our “Outstanding” Children’s Home based in the Birmingham area.

This position is to join our team on a full time contract which is 30 or 40 hours per week.

Spectrum Care Services main aim is to make a positive difference to the personal, social and learning lives of the children and placed in our care. We aim to offer an outstanding level of care for children, tailored to meet individual needs, creating a positive environment where children are offered experiences and opportunities to assist with achieving their aspirations and outcomes regardless of their disabilities. Children are supported to aspire to the continuous development of knowledge, understanding and skills, whilst being safe, socialising with friends and family and most importantly having fun.

We are looking for Residential Support Workers who will work alongside the dedicated staff team adhering to the aims and objectives set out within the homes Statement of Purpose. The home is a 3 bed Children’s Home that supports children aged 6-17 years. We deliver high standards of care to children with learning disabilities, autism and related complex health needs by facilitating their physical, psychological, emotional and recreational development.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Would have 12 months experience in the care sector, preferably children's residential setting, SEN School or SEN Nursery
Hold NVQ/QCF Level 3 Children's and Young People's Workforce (Diploma or equivalent)
Hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence
Experience working with children with disabilities, ADHD, autism, complex health needs and challenging behaviour
Have some experience working with children who have communication difficulties requiring visual support systems and MAKATON
Have a more in-depth knowledge of autism would be a bonus
Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality care and support to children in a residential setting
Assist with daily living activities and implement individual care plans
Foster positive relationships with children and their families
Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively to enhance care delivery
Drive children to appointments and activities as needed
Requirements:

· Flexible Working- Staff are required to work a fully flexible rota which includes long days, weekends, evenings and sleep-ins.

· Staff must be resilient
