Summary

The Governors at Southwold Primary School are seeking to appoint a proactive, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant with a strong background or interest in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are recruiting for the role of Teaching Assistant Level 2. The successful candidate will support personalised learning for pupils with a range of additional needs, working as part of our SEND team. This includes supporting teaching, learning, assessment, behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing and pastoral care to help pupils achieve their full potential.This is a temporary one year position.Southwold Primary is a unique and diverse school where children love to learn. The number of pupils who speak English as an Additional Language is above average, with over 30 first languages represented across the school. We are looking for a professional who will: • Support pupils' learning, emotional wellbeing and personal development, including those with SEND and SEMH needs
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and promoting high expectations of learning, behaviour and inclusion
• Use nurturing and trauma-informed approaches to help pupils regulate emotions, develop resilience and engage successfully in school life
• Encourage pupils to interact positively with others, develop social skills and participate fully in learning activities
• Deliver targeted learning and intervention activities, adapting support in response to pupils' academic, social and emotional needs
