Summary
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiasticBand 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurseto provide strong clinical and professional leadership onWard 8, a busy31‑bedded acute vascular ward. The ward delivers complex care within a fast‑paced environment and is supported by a well‑established and extendedmultidisciplinary team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward‑thinking leader to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of the ward, ensuring the delivery ofsafe, effective and high‑quality patient‑centred care. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical expertise, strong leadership skills and a clear commitment to continuous service improvement.
You will lead, support and develop the Ward 8 nursing team, promote a positive learning culture, and work collaboratively with the MDT to maintain high standards of care, patient experience and staff wellbeing.

We are looking for ahighly motivated and experienced Band 7 leaderwith a strong background inacute vascular or surgical nursing, who can providevisible, compassionate and effective leadershipwithin a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment. You will demonstrateclinical expertise and professional credibility, enabling you to lead by example and support the delivery of safe, evidence‑based care for patients with complex vascular conditions.
As a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will have proven experience inward leadership and operational management, including workforce planning, performance management, and supporting staff development. You will foster apositive, inclusive and learning‑focused culture, ensuring staff are supported, engaged and empowered to deliver high‑quality care.
You will work collaboratively with thevascular multidisciplinary team, contributing to service development, quality improvement initiatives, audit and governance activity, and ensuring national and local standards are embedded in practice. A strong focus onpatient safety, quality outcomes, and patient experienceis essential, alongside the ability to manage change, prioritise effectively and maintain oversight of a busy inpatient ward.
The successful candidate will be aforward‑thinking and dynamic leader, committed to continuous improvement within vascular services and aligned with the Trust’s values and expectations of senior nursing leadership.
