The Opportunity
This is your opportunity to take a leading role in delivering a landmark hydro-electric power scheme, from early-stage mobilisation through to final handover. As part of a major investment in renewable infrastructure, our client is expanding its site leadership team to support the full lifecycle delivery of a complex, high-value project in the Scottish Highlands. They are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to take ownership of day-to-day construction operations, ensuring that works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will sit at the heart of project delivery, bridging strategy and execution, working closely with the Project Director and wider leadership team to turn plans into reality on site.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Lead all on-site construction activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure alignment with programme and objectives
- Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with HSEQ standards
- Oversee the coordination of construction activities across multiple work fronts
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality requirements
- Collaborate with planning, commercial, and design teams to ensure integrated project delivery
- Identify and manage construction risks, implementing mitigation strategies
- Monitor site productivity, performance, and progress against key milestones
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between all stakeholders
- Support procurement and subcontractor selection and management
- Lead site meetings, reporting, and performance reviews
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice across construction operations

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

- Demonstrable experience operating as a Construction Manager on major infrastructure or construction projects
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary site operations
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site logistics
- Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Solid knowledge of HSEQ regulations and implementation on site
- Proven track record of delivering projects to programme, budget, and quality targets
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

It’s great if you also have the following

- Experience working on renewable energy or large-scale civil engineering projects
- Experience within hydro-electric, power, or heavy infrastructure environments
- Experience working within joint venture or alliance structures
- Familiarity with remote or logistically challenging site environments
- Ability to contribute to early-stage planning and constructability reviews
- Experience driving productivity and efficiency improvements on site

The setting for the role
This role is based on-site within a major hydro-electric project in the Scottish Highlands, overseeing a wide range of construction activities across challenging terrain and multiple workstreams. It requires a visible, hands-on leadership style and close collaboration with site teams, engineers, and project leadership to ensure successful delivery.
