About You:

Wrenn School is seeking a motivated and reflective Teacher of PE, committed to delivering engaging and challenging lessons that drive measurable progress and inspire all students to achieve their full potential. Brings a proven ability to raise attainment through high expectations, inclusive practice, and effective use of assessment, while fostering confidence, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation of physical activity. Contributes positively to a culture of ambition, equity, and opportunity, supporting the wider school community through strong collaboration, professional integrity, and a dedication to continuous improvement that ensures meaningful impact both in the classroom and beyond.

Our Ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status with a relevant degree: bringing secure subject expertise and a strong foundation to deliver high-quality PE lessons that support excellent student outcomes.
• Proven ability to reflect on and improve teaching practice: using insight and evaluation to continuously strengthen pedagogy and maximise student achievement.
• Strong knowledge of PE programmes of study: ensuring a well-sequenced, engaging curriculum that builds skills, knowledge, and confidence across all key stages.
• Clear understanding of strategies to embed high aspirations: driving a culture of ambition where every student is supported and challenged to exceed expectations and raise attainment.
• Effective behaviour management: establishing consistent routines and positive relationships through clear boundaries, recognition, and restorative approaches that enable all students to thrive.

The PE Department at Wrenn School is a dynamic and supportive team, committed to delivering high-quality teaching that inspires a lifelong love of physical activity and sport. With a strong focus on engagement, progression, and achievement, the department delivers a broad and well-structured curriculum that develops students’ skills, knowledge, and confidence across Key Stages 3 and 4. Teachers work collaboratively to plan engaging lessons, share best practice, and use assessment effectively to drive progress for all learners. The department plays a key role in the wider life of the school, contributing to a vibrant programme of extracurricular activities and fostering a culture of teamwork, resilience, and respect that reflects the school’s wider values and ethos.

About Wrenn School:

Wrenn is a vibrant learning community across two campuses. Our Doddington Road site supports Key Stage 3 students (ages 11–14) with a nurturing transition from primary school, while London Road provides a mature environment for Key Stages 4 and 5 (ages 14–18).

Set in beautiful grounds, Wrenn offers specialist facilities for Art, Music, Drama, and Design Technology, alongside extensive sports amenities including the Wrenn Astro, playing fields, and gyms.
