What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and adaptable teacher to join our newsecondary team as we become Warrington’s first all through school - Bruche Academy, WA1 3TT - in September2026.

This post is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as more experiencedpractitioners. We are open to applications for full or part time positions as well as asecondment.

This is a rare opportunity to play a foundational role in shaping the culture, curriculum, anddaily life of a growing secondary phase from the very beginning. Bruche is an extremelypopular school with a strong reputation for excellence, and as we become an all-throughschool, we are committed to ensuring that the same high standards, expectations andoutcomes continue into the Key Stage 3 and 4 phases.

Our first Year 7 classes start in September 2026 and our new Secondary Director is leadingthe final preparations. Construction of our new £13m school facilities are underway and willbe fully open for September 2027.

This role will suit a teacher who enjoys variety, collaboration and innovation. In the first year,staff will teach across a range of subjects (within competence), reflecting the small size of thefounding cohort.

You will also take on a form tutor role, building strong relationships with pupils and familiesand supporting the transition into secondary education.

This role is based in Bruche Academy, Warrington, WA1 3TT.

Bruche Primary Academy, which is the highest performing primary school in Warrington, will become an all-through school from September 2026. Our new name is Bruche Academy, accommodating children from 2 to 16 years.

Years 7 and above will have two forms in each year, expanding the school to 550 pupils. This will be Warrington’s first all-through school. Curriculum planning has begun and staff modelling is underway; staffing will grow year-on-year as cohorts rise.

A new building funded with a £13m grant will be added to the existing site for September 2027, including shared dining, sports, reception, and staff room provision. All the facilities for Key Stage 3 and 4 will be new and provided in the additional building.

The role of Key Stage 3 Teacher will complete the newly formed core secondary team in our first year, joining another form teacher and the Secondary Director, plus specialist tutors.
