We require, from 1st September 2026, a reliable and flexible individual to work alongside current members of our site team.
Typically working 3.00pm to 10.00pm, the successful candidate must be able to work flexibly to cover annual leave across the team. This will include working additional day shifts, and some weekend shifts may be required on occasion.
The position is open to job share. Should a job share be appointed, the successful candidates must be able to work flexibly to cover annual leave for the person they are sharing the job with.
The main duties of the role are:
a) to undertake routine grounds and site maintenance to ensure the school site and grounds are maintained in a tidy, presentable and safe state at all times.
b) to work alongside the Evening Site Supervisor during evening shifts – assisting with ensuring the security of the school premises out of school hours and dealing with maintenance-related issues that may arise during the course of lettings and out of hours activities taking place on the school site.
c) to facilitate community groups using the site on an evening, ensuring that their requirements are met in a friendly and efficient manner
d) to undertake cleaning duties to cover the absence of any cleaners.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our popular and successful school in beautiful West Cornwall. Ofsted (Inspection May 2023) judged the school as ‘good’ and stated, “Pupils enjoy attending Humphry Davy School. They feel safe, happy and well-cared for. Pupils value the warm and respectful relationships they have with their teachers. It is a highly inclusive school”.
We value our long-standing and well-deserved reputation for a cooperative and inclusive ethos which encourages, supports and develops students of all abilities. Our staff are recognised as sharing this strong commitment to raising standards, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved beyond your core responsibilities if you so choose.
