This is an exciting opportunity for you to join Lincolnshire County Council's Design Services Team as an Engineer or Technician on a Career Grade Opportunity. We are delighted to be offering two Career Grade opportunities, and we would welcome applications from candidates at any level of their career from just starting out/entry level, up to experienced engineer level or anywhere in between.
You'll be contributing to the delivery of services to maintain and improve essential infrastructure that impacts the lives of Lincolnshire residents and visitors to the county on a daily basis. You'll have the chance to work on diverse projects, enhance your skills, and develop a rewarding career path in the field of highways infrastructure.
You will be guided by a dedicated line manager who is focused on creating a personalised training program for you. Your ongoing development is a priority for us because we want to help you reach your full potential within LCC and advance through our available levels. You will benefit from both internal and external training, with our full support in obtaining formal qualifications.
We understand that everyone’s needs are different, and we’re committed to helping you find the best balance to achieve your agreed-upon goals. We monitor individual workloads and progress to ensure you maintain a healthy work-life balance. During your regular one-on-one sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to openly discuss your progress, accomplishments, and areas for growth, and to plan your next steps. We’ll also recognise and celebrate your achievements, so get ready to shine and receive the praise you deserve.
We operate a hybrid working model where in a typical week, your presence will be required 2 days in Lancaster House, Lincoln, when the team come together. On occasion this commitment may extend when Service needs dictate. You’ll, of course, spend time both onsite and working from home too. Even when you're not in the office, you'll stay connected with your team throughout the day via email and Microsoft Teams. If you prefer working in the office, you can use our desk booking system to collaborate with other team members in person each day.
The jobs will broadly entail:
Scheme assessment and selection
Drainage investigations
Development of policy, procedures and guidance notes
