Summary
We are seeking a reliable, proactive and highly practical Site Manager / Premises Officer to join our school team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running, maintenance, safety and security of the school buildings, grounds and facilities.The successful candidate will play an essential part in creating a safe, clean and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain the school site, buildings and grounds to a high standard
• Ensure site security, including opening the site in the morning and securing it at the end of the day
• Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, basic electrical and DIY tasks
• Coordinate and monitor contractors and external services
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and risk assessments
• Oversee cleaning, maintenance schedules and site inspections
• Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs and site checks
• Respond promptly to emergencies and site issues
About You
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a very handy and practical individual with strong DIY and maintenance skills
• Has the ability to work independently and use initiative
• Can manage a variety of tasks and respond calmly to unexpected issues
• Is committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
• Has good communication skills and can work effectively with staff, pupils and contractors
• Is flexible and willing to work a split shift pattern (early mornings and evenings)
