Summary

Procurement Support Officer

Salary: £30,024 - £38,220

Hours: 36.25 per week

Job type: Temporary / 12 months contract (31st March 2027)

Location: Hybrid working conditions / Tootal Buildings Manchester City Centre


Your role:

We have an exciting opportunity that has opened up in our Procurement & Commercial Services Team for a Procurement Support Officer.

We are looking for a procurement professional to provide a proactive, responsive commercial service to GMCA delivered through a business partnering approach.


The successful candidate will support the delivery of key, strategic procurement activity across the organisation, ensuring safe, effective and efficient processes are in place and widely used.


About you:

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual able to manage several projects/tasks at once. They will be an experienced and driven individual that can generate alternative options and develop practical solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must; you will effectively liaise with a range of people and services at all levels.

We are looking for:

  • Knowledge and experience of providing administrative support in a Local government environment.
  • A record of successful achievements in procurement and contract management.
  • Strongly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and proven ability to inspire confidence at all levels of the organisation,
  • Motivated with the ability to prioritise workloads of self and team members to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting complex information and communicating it appropriately to a range of stakeholders
