About the Role

We are recruiting for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Preston on a full-time basis. This role involves working with students with a range of Special Educational Needs, delivering high-quality, tailored education that supports both academic and personal development.You will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN
  • Support students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies as required
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans (EHCPs where applicable)
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, parents/carers, and external professionals
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using a nurturing and patient approach

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Have experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a secondary setting
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
  • Be adaptable, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education
  • Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practice
  • Be committed to helping every student reach their full potential
