Summary


We are currently looking at hiring a Mental Health Support Worker for Alumhurst Ward, St Ann's Hospital.

Alumhurst Ward is undergoing a refurbishment and will be split into two separate wards. One 10-bedded female unit and one 6-bedded male unit.

We are a well-established, highly motivated and friendly team. We have a team of experienced nurses and support workers with a wide range of skills and pride ourselves on providing excellent care to our service users.

This is a great opportunity to join an established team, who work well together to develop a high quality service. We have regular teaching, supervision and a shared vison and action plan for the service.

The Trust runs excellent development courses, which you can attend to learn and hone your skills. Your continuous professional development will be planned and tailored to your needs together with support to achieve the personal goals set via annual appraisal and you will receive regular clinical and management supervision.

This is for a fixed term or secondment position which will last until the end of the refurbishment works as part of the new hospital programme. This is proposed to end in December 2027.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post. This is a Monday to Friday course 8:00 – 16:00
