For questions about this job, contact: Alistair Duff Head of Department / Consultant Clinical Psychologist alistair.duff1@nhs.net 0113 392 5143 What you will bring to the role Experience of specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in-patient settings. In particular, experience of providing neuropsychology within a paediatric regional neurology centre is crucial for this post. Experience of working with a wide variety of CYP and families and presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse. Further training in a specialised area of clinical practice through formal post-doctoral training (diploma or equivalent) or a combination of specialist short courses together with an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice as assessed by an experienced clinical supervisor to be of equivalent level to a postgraduate diploma. Experience of selecting, administering and interpreting a wide range of neuropsychological tests to provide neuropsychological assessment within the context of paediatric neurological or neurosurgical presentations. Completion of a clinical supervisor training sufficient to be able to supervise doctoral trainees. Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist including post-qualification experience within the designated specialty where the post is located. Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patients’ psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator (or equivalent in physical health care setting) and also within the context of a multi-disciplinary care plan.
