About the role

Community Library Assistant Bury Libraries (Part Time, 28 hours)

Bury Library Service is seeking an enthusiastic and customerfocused Community Library Assistant to join our team. This parttime role (28 hours per week) is based at Prestwich Library, the hours will be worked Tuesday ,Wednesday and Friday 9.30am -4.30pm, Thursday 12pm to 7pm, and alternate Sunday mornings 9.00am - 1pm. The successful applicant may be asked to work at any of Bury's Libraries as required.

Working under the direction of the Library Supervisor, you will help deliver a wide range of library and public information services. Duties include assisting customers with digital enquiries, cash handling, shelving and maintaining stock, and supporting general daytoday library operations.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience working with the public and handling customer enquiries. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support to customers and external partners.
