This is more than a leadership role — it’s an opportunity to drive meaningful change, champion inclusive practice and create an environment where pupils and staff can thrive together.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership across behaviour, pastoral care, wellbeing and pupil engagement, ensuring every young person receives the support they need to access learning and achieve success.

As Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour & Attitudes, you will lead whole-school strategies that promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and exceptional pastoral care. Working closely with therapeutic and clinical teams, families and external agencies, you’ll create a trauma-informed and relational culture that supports pupils to feel regulated, engaged and ready to learn.

You’ll play a central role in shaping school culture, supporting staff development and driving improvement across behaviour, attitudes and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading whole-school behaviour, attitudes and pastoral strategies
Embedding trauma-informed and relational approaches across the school
Using data and evidence to drive improvement in behaviour, attendance and wellbeing
Leading and maintaining robust safeguarding and pastoral systems
Coaching, supporting and developing staff to promote consistent practice
Building strong relationships with pupils, families and external agencies
Leading reintegration, intervention and personalised support pathways
Contributing to whole-school improvement as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team
Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

Degree qualified in Education, Psychology, or a related field

Passionate about creating inclusive environments where every child can succeed
Skilled in trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation and behaviour support
An exceptional communicator who builds positive relationships easily
Calm, resilient and solution-focused under pressure
Experienced in leading teams and driving positive change
Deeply committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
