Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the award‑winning Derbyshire Catering Service and play a key role in creating positive lunchtime experiences for our young customers.
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our dedicated kitchen team at Hollinsclough Primary School. Working closely with the Kitchen Supervisor, you’ll support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the service, whether in the kitchen, production unit or servery. Your role will be varied and hands-on, from food preparation and cooking to portion control, allergen awareness and setting up the dining area ready for service.
Our Catering Assistants are often the welcoming face of our service, working directly with pupils and staff. You’ll take pride in serving nutritious meals while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety. Creating a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime environment is at the heart of what we do, so a cheerful, respectful attitude suited to a school setting is essential.
Full training will be provided, and successful completion of the Level 2 Food Hygiene/NVQ Food Hygiene Certificate will be required as part of the role.
