Summary
Brake Press Operator – West Bromwich
(5+ Years’ Experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication)
Experienced and reliable Brake Press Operator with over five years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Skilled in operating CNC and manual press brake machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components in line with technical drawings and strict tolerances. Proven ability to maintain productivity, ensure precision, and uphold health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, programme, and operate CNC and manual press brake machines (e.g. Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar).
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical specifications, and job sheets accurately.
Perform precision bending, forming, and shaping of sheet metal to tight tolerances.
Select appropriate tooling and materials for each job, ensuring correct machine setup.
Carry out in-process inspections and quality checks using measuring equipment (verniers, calipers, gauges).
Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer requirements.
Maintain machinery, carry out routine checks, and report faults promptly.
Follow all health & safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Key Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Brake Press / Press Brake Operator.
Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine operation.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience working with various metals (e.g. mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium).
Knowledge of tooling setups and bend allowances.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Strong awareness of workplace health & safety.

Able to work under pressure in a busy production environment.
Team player with good communication skills.
Flexible and willing to work overtime when required.
