Summary
We are looking for someone who has:
A strong understanding of student wellbeing, including knowledge of Autism Spectrum Condition and common mental health conditions affecting students
Experience supporting individuals in crisis or managing urgent welfare concerns in a calm and professional manner
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
The ability to assess risk and respond appropriately, including escalation where required
A compassionate, non-judgemental approach with a commitment to inclusion and diversity
Knowledge of safeguarding principles and confidentiality in a higher education or similar setting
Experience of working collaboratively with internal services and external agencies to coordinate support
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities during busy periods
Confidence in working independently, particularly in an out-of-hours environment
Awareness of the barriers faced by disabled and neurodivergent students, and a proactive approach to reducing these
IT literacy, including the ability to accurately record case notes and use internal systems
Working Pattern:
This role will involve working flexibly as part of a rota with another out-of-hours team member. The working pattern will typically include three days per week (Monday–Saturday), with a requirement to work two Saturdays per month. Standard hours will be Monday–Friday, 14:30–22:00, and Saturday, 09:00–16:30.
There may be enhancements for weekend working.
