We are seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support the contract management team in the delivery and ongoing development of service solution systems, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to contractual requirements.​

The role plays a key part in identifying service improvement opportunities and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment across the designated sites.

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive individual with experience in facilities or cleaning services who can effectively supervise frontline teams, manage resources responsibly and work collaboratively with stakeholders across ISS.​

This role requires strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and the ability to communicate confidently with customers and different levels of management.

Key Responsibilities

Support the contract management team in service delivery, system development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and maintain a safe, secure working environment.

Manage rostering of facility Placemakers, ensuring contractual cover and managing sickness and planned absences.

Ensure audits, COSHH, H&S documentation, SOPs and related records are completed, reviewed and kept up to date.

Oversee recruitment, training, supervision and development of frontline Placemakers, including appraisals and succession planning.

Ensure services are delivered in a commercially responsible manner, maintaining rigorous cost control on labour, materials and consumables.

Manage customer queries and complaints in line with the customer complaints procedure, ensuring accurate recording and resolution.

Support contract mobilisations, including TUPE transfers, and work co-operatively with other business sectors and support functions within ISS.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Experience working with customers and delivering soft services within a facilities or cleaning services environment.

Proven supervisory and organisational skills, with the ability to work on own initiative while following management guidance.

Strong understanding of how service outcomes impact successful contract delivery.

Competent in using Microsoft packages and communicating with different levels of management.

Ideally experienced in liaising with engineers.

Full UK driving licence, with the ability to cover sites in Shrewsbury and Mold.
