Summary
Key responsibilities
Your main day to day responsibilities could include gaining skills and experience in:
Support and facilitate workshops to identify, clarify, and document business requirements.
Model current (“As Is”) business processes and produce analysis artefacts such as process maps.
Draft clear requirements and user stories to support feature delivery.
Develop and apply scenario‑based acceptance criteria to support effective testing.
Maintain traceability of requirements and user stories through epics or high‑level requirements.
Gather and analyse evidence to inform business needs, priorities, business cases, and benefits realisation.
Identify service and process improvement opportunities and support implementation of agreed solutions.
Produce performance measures and support stakeholder engagement through analysis outputs (e.g. RACIs).
This on the job training will be provided through:
Exposure to and utilising methodologies and tools used by Business Analysts within the Home Office.
Building up experience in the role by supporting more senior Business Analysts in their day to day work.
Receiving career mentoring and coaching across Home Office Government Digital and Data Profession.
Working pattern
This role is available on a full-time basis with the option of compressed hours working. This role is also suitable for part-time working hours, with a minimum requirement to work 5 days / 28 hours per week due to business requirements.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required to other work locations within the UK according to business needs. All related costs will be reimbursed in line with Home Office policy.
