The Mental Health Division of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust comprises of three directorates; Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist Services. The Integrated Specialist Services provides specialist NHS services to people for whom mainstream services cannot meet their demands. We are seeking an HCA to join our Inpatient Assessment & Treatment Team with IDD.
The Orion Unit is an 8 bedded inpatient service for adults with an intellectual disability and complex mental health needs and / or challenging behaviours whose needs are unable to be met within the community at any given time. We offer specialist assessment and treatment tailored to the individual, the team works flexibly, utilising a broad range of models and interventions, within a Multi-Disciplinary Team. The Unit supports people in times of crisis, difficulty, and distress; effectively collaborating between professionals, the person, family/carers and networks that support them. We work closely with our community colleagues in health and social care.
An opportunity has arisen for an IDD HealthCare Assistant to work within the Inpatient Assessment & Treatment Team, based at the Orion Unit at Highbury Hospital, Bulwell, Nottingham.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

You will be expected to work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care and treatment of patients, working in a recovery-orientated and holistic manner towards the ultimate discharge of the patient.
You will be expected to participate in any future training identified in order to fulfil the role of the Healthcare Assistant. You will be given opportunities for training and development in different areas of the Health Care Assistant role and any aspects of your particular interest.
Candidates will be expected to work a full range of shifts including day and night shifts across 7 days per week working across the Highbury Hospital and Sherwood Oaks sites. However, there will be an opportunity to discuss your preferred base during the recruitment process although flexibility will be required.
