We are looking for a Specialist Occupational Therapist with Neuroscience experience to join the Occupational Therapy department. This role is part of a very supportive multi-disciplinary team working with adults with a variety of neurological conditions, including stroke in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate will be required to work on the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and will have experience managing a specialist caseload as an autonomous practitioner whilst also supporting junior staff and students. In addition, the candidate will be able to assess risk relating to the discharge process to ensure safe and timely discharge of patients to the most appropriate setting, as well as providing advice to patients/carers including instruction and training regarding use of equipment issued.

Clinical
1. To maintain a high standard of professional practice, working within the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
2. To be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of your own work including accountability for the management of patients in your care as an autonomous practitioner
3. To have knowledge of evidence as a base for practice, participate in service / multidisciplinary audit and research within the clinical area and use knowledge gained to achieve optimum outcomes for Occupational Therapy.
4. To prioritise own caseload
5. To independently carry out specialised assessment and appropriate intervention for patients with complex needs incorporating personal, psychological and spiritual needs in relation to self-care, leisure and productivity.
