Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers, tutors, graduates, retired teachers, or experienced educators who are confident delivering lessons online and supporting learners with a wide range of educational, communication, emotional and learning needs.
There may be opportunities to teach face to face, however these are rare.
Role Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality online lessons via Microsoft Teams
* Teach GCSE English, Maths, Science and/or Functional Skills Maths & English (Entry Level 1 to Level 2)
* Adapt teaching approaches to suit different learning styles and individual learner needs
* Create a calm, encouraging and inclusive online learning environment
* Support learners who may require additional patience, structure, reassurance or differentiated teaching approaches
* Monitor learner progress and provide feedback
* Maintain a professional and safeguarding focused learning environment
* Record attendance and basic learner progress information (end of month reports)
* Communicate professionally with staff, parents/carers (where appropriate), and learners
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
* Have experience teaching or tutoring Maths, English and/or Science
* Be confident using Microsoft Teams and online teaching technology
* Be patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships with learners from varied backgrounds and abilities
* Hold an up to date Enhanced DBS certificate (registered on the DBS Update Service preferred)
* Provide an up to date CV
* Provide two satisfactory references, including one relating to working with children or young people
* Have the right to work in the UK
* Have good written and spoken English
* Have access to a reliable internet connection and suitable equipment for online teaching
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, Cert Ed or relevant teaching qualification (preferred)
* Functional Skills and/or GCSE teaching experience (preferred)
* Experience supporting learners who benefit from personalised teaching approaches and additional learning support (preferred)
* Experience teaching online/remotely (preferred)
