Working as a Primary Supply Teacher allows you to experience a range of classrooms and year groups while maintaining flexibility and control over your working pattern. Duties as Primary Supply Teacher:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Follow school policies, routines, and behaviour expectations
  • Support pupils’ learning, engagement, and progress during lessons
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit different year groups and abilities
  • Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
  • Provide feedback to class teachers or senior staff where required
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times

Ideal Primary Supply Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to supply work
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate pupils of varying abilities
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
