Summary
A well-established and growing catering business based in West Bromwich, is currently seeking an experienced South Indian Curry Chef to join their kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled chef with a passion for authentic South Indian cuisine to work in a fast-paced and professional catering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic South Indian dishes, including curries, dosas, idlis, sambar, chutneys, and other regional specialties
Ensure consistency in flavour, quality, and presentation of all dishes
Assist in menu planning and development of new South Indian recipes
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness
Monitor stock levels and manage ingredients effectively
Work efficiently during busy catering operations and events
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or Curry Chef
Strong knowledge of South Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques
Ability to prepare dishes from regions such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, or Karnataka
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Desirable Skills:
Previous experience in a catering or high-volume kitchen
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
