Summary
Post-16 Phase Lead (Therapist)The role is a Permanent/Maternity Cover, Full-Time only roleThe role is currently held by job share, although one job share partner is stepping down, the other is on maternity leave, therefore one half of the role is subject to 6–12-month maternity cover contract. Monday to Friday: (08:30am – 17:00pm) Salary from: Dependant on experience To Start: September 2026 Our special outstanding school is constantly growing, providing a supportive, nurturing learning environment for more and more children. We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist or Occupational Therapist to join our Post-16 team in the role of Post-16 Phase Lead (Therapist).
The main joint responsibilities of the role: • Together with your Teaching Co-Lead, coordinate the Post-16 Curriculum, taking ownership of your particular professional speciality (Therapy). You will ensure the smooth running of assessments, the holistic curriculum, qualifications and pupil progress. • To support and coordinate the students and staff on a daily basis, creating a nurturing, family atmosphere with high expectations and excellent provision.
The ideal candidate will have: • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, support and manage a multidisciplinary post 16 team • Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning • A relevant therapy qualification • Excellent English skills (clear written and spoken English) along with good reading, writing and numeracy skills • The ability to build good working relationships with students, teachers, parents and carers • The ability to work collaboratively as a member of a wider team of teachers, therapists and support staff • Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children with SLCN • Supporting our students can sometimes be challenging, mental and physical resilience are qualities necessary for all our staff.
