The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist Post-16 provision in the Barnet area.
The setting supports young adults aged 16-24 with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), learning difficulties, and communication needs, with a strong focus on independence, life skills, and preparing for adulthood.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to deliver meaningful, personalised education in a structured and supportive environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to Post-16 learners with SEN
* Support students in developing life skills, functional skills, and independence
* Implement and review personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
* Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
* Monitor and track student progress, adapting strategies where needed
* Build strong relationships with students, families, and external professionals
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience working with SEN learners, ideally within a Post-16 or specialist setting
* Strong understanding of Autism, communication needs, and differentiated teaching
* Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
* Patient, adaptable, and student-centred approach
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
