Summary

This position forms part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme which is part funded by Innovate UK.

This position is initially for a 24-month fixed term contract. You will be employed by Teesside University but will be working at the business partner premises day to day. The business partner, Pinnacle RE-Tec Ltd is an engineering company, based in Consett (County Durham) which specialises in the reverse engineering, precision remanufacture, and refurbishment of complex rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and turbine components.

The appointed candidate will have 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and access to a dedicated £4k training budget tailored towards their personal development. They will have access to industry leading technology and supervision from a leading academic research team from Teesside University.

This KTP aims to develop an AI-assisted digital reverse-engineering capability that automatically converts 3D scan data of components for pumps and gearboxes into accurate, standards-compliant engineering drawings. The project will reduce design time, improve accuracy, and enable faster, more sustainable remanufacturing of critical industrial components.

Due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by the UKVI, this post may qualify for University sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.
