As this is a remote Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) site with limited public transport links, you will need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle to travel to and from the Hinkley Point A site safely and reliably.
The NRS General Building Engineer plays an important part in ensuring that planned and reactive maintenance across the site is delivered safely, compliantly and in a timely manner.
What you will do:

• Performing general and semi-skilled maintenance activities.
• Maintaining fire doors and performing flushing and tap temperature tests as per water risk assessments.
• Carrying out any other duties as required.
• Assisting the wider civils team with various tasks across the site.
What makes this role unique is you will work alongside the engineers in all maintenance across the site as well as working independently.
What you will bring:
• Fire; Door Maintenance
• General maintenance background working on both reactive a compliance tasks.
• Ideally hold a building maintenance qualification or similar.
• IT skills
• Driving license
Ideally you will be qualified in multiple areas of maintenance as outlined above with experience in general building maintenance.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have basic Health and Safety knowledge and exposure to building and system compliance, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
This role is subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. BPSS is a pre-employment screening process and includes verification of your identity, right to work in the UK, employment history and references, and a basic criminal record check. Appointment will be conditional upon successfully meeting the BPSS requirements.
