Summary
Vacancy Location: Ty Newydd, Crown Road, Maesteg, CF34 0LN
Shifts: 28.5 hours per week (Monday to Sunday on a rota basis)
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Sponsorship: This service does not provide support for visa sponsorship
Based at Ty Newydd, in Maesteg, we provide nursing care for 16 adults over the age of 18. We offer a place called home for people with a range of complex specialist mental health needs.
As our Chef, you will play a vital role in the heart of the home- the kitchen.
You’ll prepare fresh, nutritious, home-cooked meals tailored to individual needs and preferences, consulting with colleagues to plan varied menus that meet dietary requirements, including guidance from SALT and other professionals.
This role offers:
• 10- hour shifts between 8am and 6pm
• 3 days per week (28.5 hours per week, 30 minute break)
• Alternative weekends working
• Autonomy to suggest and lead themed food events and special celebration days
• The opportunity to create and manage an annual events calendar

• Create and serve delicious, home-style meals designed around individual tastes and wellbeing needs
• Lead and support kitchen colleagues to maintain high standards
• Ensure all food hygiene, Health & Safety and relevant regulations are met

You have:
• At least 2 years cooking experience
• Knowledge of dietary requirements in care environments
