Summary
Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)
Role Overview
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to support students with sensory, physical, and functional needs that impact their learning. The role focuses on helping students develop independence, engagement, and participation in education.
Key Responsibilities
Assess students’ sensory, motor, and functional needs
Develop and implement occupational therapy support plans
Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions
Support students with sensory regulation and motor skills
Provide strategies to support access to learning and classroom participation
Advise staff on environmental and learning adaptations
Work with students with SEN and additional needs
Liaise with parents/carers regarding support strategies
Maintain accurate assessment and intervention records
Review progress and adapt support accordingly
Essential Criteria
Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
Experience supporting children or young people
Understanding of sensory processing and functional needs
Ability to assess and implement targeted interventions
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable Criteria
Experience working in an education setting
Experience supporting SEN students
Knowledge of sensory integration strategies
Experience providing staff training and guidance
Membership of relevant professional body
