Summary
Clinical Responsibilities Undertake regular ward rounds of the complex arthroplasty patients Attend the weekly Complex Arthroplasty MDT at UHB and provide an update on the Complex Arthroplasty In patients. Participate in referrals as required and submit to the Midlands Regional Centre (MRC) MDT Maintain and co-ordinate safe and efficient cross site care of the complex arthroplasty patients. Liaise with the Operational team and wider MDT to plan and co-ordinate theatre lists Support on going development of the Complex Arthroplasty MDT and clinical pathways. Participate in regular audit and research. Organise regional/ national arthroplasty seminars and meetings. On call duties The fellow may be expected to perform on call duties on some weekends, but will not participate in the general Trauma on call rota. Clinical Governance Participate in all aspects of the clinical governance structure developed by the Trust to monitor, maintain and develop the quality and effectiveness of care. The Trust are committed to the development of medical staff through individual appraisal. This will include: - Audit of personal clinical practice as well as involvement in department/speciality reviews Attention to continuing professional development and to meeting the requirements for Continuing Medical Education defined by the relevant Royal College (and for which appropriate study leave support will be available) Awareness of professional standards and the responsibility to undertake safe and ethical clinical practice. The importance of responding promptly to any circumstances which may result in increased clinical risk of adverse outcome.
