Summary

Live-in Care Assistant

Location: Leytonstone
Pay: £650–£700 per week (depending on care package and experience)
Rota: 1-week live-in placement (24-hour support with agreed daily breaks)
Reporting to: Registered Care Manager
Scoutquest Limited is looking for a caring, reliable Live-in Care Assistant to provide person-centred support to customers in their own homes. You’ll deliver high-quality care and proactive day-to-day support in line with each customer’s individual care plan, helping them to live safely and as independently as possible.
The role can range from companionship and lifestyle support through to complex and palliative care. You’ll be expected to always work professionally and discreetly, respecting each customer’s privacy, dignity, property, and confidentiality.
The role
Live-in Care Assistants work with customers on a 24-hour basis during the placement. Specific duties vary by care plan, and may include personal care, mobility support, medication assistance, meal preparation, shopping, and light housekeeping.
Key responsibilities
• Provide proactive day-to-day support in line with the customer’s care plan.
• Support with personal care, including skin care, bathing, shaving, oral care, toileting (including bladder and bowel care), dressing, hair care.
• Support mobility and safe transfers, including moving and handling; pushing a wheelchair; checking specialist equipment (e.g., wheelchair cushions); and driving the customer’s vehicle where appropriate and authorised.
• Support with diet and nutrition, including menu planning, preparing, serving, and safely storing food.
• Enable activities of daily living, including support with work, education, leisure, and community activities where applicable.
• Assist with medication as prescribed and in line with training and agreed procedures.
• Support with correspondence and financial matters when requested by the customer (where appropriate).
• Complete day-to-day household tasks such as changing beds, laundry, ironing, shopping, and light housekeeping.
• Always maintain confidentiality and discretion.
• Agree and negotiate breaks with the customer to ensure they are suitable and consented, while monitoring working hours (typically averaging 8–10 hours per day).
• Complete reporting and recording in line with company procedures.
• Follow Scoutquest Limited policies and procedures at all times.
• Commit to ongoing learning and personal development.
The candidate
Essential
• The skills and knowledge to provide care, and the willingness to complete additional training when required.
• Ability to build excellent interpersonal relationships.
• Proactive, flexible, and dependable.
• Strong communication skills.
• Calm and able to respond appropriately to situations as they arise.
• Ability to work independently in a customer’s home.
Desirable
• Previous live-in care experience.
