Summary

SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Full-time, long-term supply from as soon as possible until May half term, reducing to one day per week thereafter
This SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to provide dedicated, consistent support to a pupil within a supportive and well-organised school environment. The role is full time initially, with the possibility of reducing to one day per week after May half term, and is well suited to a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant who is calm, resilient, and confident in supporting pupils with additional needs.Duties as SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs throughout the school day
- Support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation in line with individual support plans
- Follow and implement a clear risk assessment, with guidance and support provided by the school
- Use positive behaviour strategies to support the pupil, recognising that physical behaviours have significantly reduced
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to adapt activities and support progress
- Promote a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Maintain clear communication with staff regarding progress, behaviour, and well-being
- Support safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times

Ideal SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working as a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with additional needs
- Calm, patient, and confident approach to behaviour support
- Ability to follow risk assessments and behaviour support strategies consistently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- Commitment to supporting pupils' learning, well-being, and personal development
