This programme is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a measurable impact on young people’s lives and are ready to begin developing the skills, confidence, and presence required to succeed in the classroom.

The Opportunity

As a Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher, you will become part of a dedicated and high-performing Maths department within a welcoming secondary school community in Langport. From the outset, you will be immersed in the day-to-day life of a teacher, with a carefully structured training pathway that gradually builds your independence.

You will:

• Support the delivery of Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with exposure to Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
• Work closely with students in both small groups and one-to-one settings to strengthen understanding and raise attainment.
• Develop core teaching skills including planning, delivery, assessment, and differentiation.
• Observe experienced practitioners and apply effective teaching strategies in your own practice.
• Take part in regular, high-quality training sessions focused on pedagogy, behaviour management, and curriculum knowledge.
• Progressively take ownership of lessons as your confidence and ability develop under expert guidance.

This is a genuine school-based training experience that combines structured learning with real classroom responsibility from the very beginning.

What You Will Gain

• A salaried teacher training position with no tuition fees.
• A clear and supported route towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Opportunity to gain PGCE accreditation alongside QTS at no additional cost.
• Daily mentoring from experienced Maths specialists and senior leaders.
• A carefully sequenced training programme rooted in classroom practice.
• Gradual increase in teaching responsibility to support professional growth.
• Excellent long-term career progression opportunities within education.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking graduates who are serious about pursuing a career in teaching and are ready to commit to a challenging and rewarding professional pathway.

You should have:

• A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject (minimum 2:1 preferred).
• GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• A strong passion for Mathematics and a desire to inspire young learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A resilient, reflective, and professional approach to learning and development.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Previous experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential. The key requirement is a strong academic background, commitment, and genuine enthusiasm for education.

Application Process

If you are a high-achieving Mathematics graduate ready to begin a meaningful and rewarding career in teaching, please send your CV to KPI Education.
