We are looking for a Personal Assistant / Carer to join our friendly team of three carers. You will provide high quality one to one support to a young man in his family home. Your role will focus on comfort wellbeing and supporting an active and happy daily life.
We can offer up to 35 five hours per week.
About him.He has a cheeky sense of humour and enjoys a good laugh.
He is non verbal and clearly communicates his likes and dislikes in his own way.
He has autism and well controlled epilepsy.
He enjoys walks and taking part in activities in the local community.
Your role will include.Supporting daily routines including personal care dressing and meal preparation.
Encouraging social interaction and community outings.
Administering medication as required.
Completing minimal paperwork.
Working closely with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent and person centred care.
What we are looking for.Good spoken and written English.
Previous experience in home care or a similar caring role.
The ability to follow care plans while adapting to changing needs.
A driving licence is helpful but not essential.
What we offer.A competitive hourly rate. (Hourly rate is due an increase in April, just don't know what it is yet but we are guessing at least £13.30 per hour).
A structured three week rolling rota including 1 full weekend on then 2 weekends off.
Six hour shifts with a mix of 8am to 2pm and 2pm to 8pm.
Opportunities for extra hours to cover holidays and absences.
An immediate start for the right person.
We are looking for someone reliable honest and genuinely passionate about making a positive difference. A caring nature and a good sense of humour will go a long way here.
Must like dogs. They are part of the team too.
