Secondary schools across Salford are seeking highly motivated and committed individuals to join their teams as Trainee Teaching Assistants. This role offers an excellent pathway for recent graduates who are considering a career in education or who wish to gain meaningful experience working with young people.
The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, working under the guidance of senior staff to contribute to a safe, inclusive, and productive school environment. This position provides structured training, mentoring, and the opportunity to develop essential skills for those aspiring to progress into teaching or other education‑based professions.
- Assisting teachers in the delivery of high-quality lessons and learning activities
- Providing academic and pastoral support to students aged 11-16
- Supporting pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND or EAL requirements
- Supervising small group interventions and one-to-one support sessions as directed
- Helping to maintain a positive, orderly, and respectful classroom environment
- Contributing to the wider life of the school where required
- A degree in any discipline
- A genuine interest in education and working with young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A professional, adaptable, and proactive approach
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Previous experience in an educational or youth-focused setting is beneficial but not essential, as full training is provided
- Comprehensive training and ongoing support
- Valuable classroom experience to strengthen future PGCE or teacher training applications
