About the role
Pay Details: Grade 8 SPC 26- 30 £37,280 to £40,777 Pro Rata £19.32 - £21.14 Per Hour
Hours: 30 hours per week
Location: Civic Offices, Barry
This role will support the Principal Landscape Architect in leading the delivery of landscape services across the Council and to external partners. The post holder will help plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality professional landscape advice, design work and project supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing specialist landscape advice, design, and supervision services to Council departments and external organisations.
Preparing, managing and monitoring landscape contracts to ensure high standards of delivery, including cost estimation and financial control.
Representing the Directorate at meetings, including committees and working groups, and liaising with developers, consultants and external agencies.
Preparing contract documentation, reports, grant applications, and supporting material for publicity, consultation and display.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of regeneration, environmental enhancement and landscape management projects across the Vale.

About you
We are looking for a motivated and skilled landscape professional who can contribute effectively to a varied portfolio of projects.

You will need:

Experience in landscape design and project delivery.
Knowledge of local authority processes and the planning system.
A degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline (e.g. Diploma in Landscape Architecture).
The ability to prepare tenders, technical reports, and manage contracts and projects effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong IT skills, including data processing.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
